Ingredients:
250gm Bengal gram
1tsp Soda bicarbonate
1 Large cardamom
½ tsp Cinnamon powder
1/2tsp Cumin powder
1/2tsp Pepper powder
1/2tsp Clove powder
1/2tsp Coriander powder
1/4tsp Turmeric
1/2tsp Chilly powder
3 Green chilies
1 tsp Tamarind
50gm Tomatoes
50gm Potatoes
2 springs Coriander leaves
4 tsp Ghee
Method:
Wash and soak gram overnight with soda bicarbonate. 2, Cook gram till tender. 3, Add powdered cardamom, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, pepper, coriander and cool. 4, Heat half of the fat. Fry sliced onion, turmeric and chilly powder. 5, Add gram, tomatoes and whole
Green chilies. 6, continue cooking and mash gram. 7, just before removing from the fire add tamarind juice and salt. 8, Boil potatoes and slice. 9,Fry half of the sliced potatoes and add to the gram. 10, Serve garnished with boiled and sliced potatoes and chopped coriander leaves.
